  _____

Dear Members of Edmonton, Yellowhead, St. Paul, and Red Deer Presbyteries;

The Residential Schools Steering Committee of General Council will be
holding its meeting in the Edmonton area February 21-23, 2007. The mandate
of this Committee is to "co-ordinate all aspects of the issues related to
residential schools, including the legal, pastoral, communica-tions,
alternate resolution possibilities and healing initiatives, and financial
planning".

Once a year, the Committee meets at the site of a former Indian residential
school. This year we will be visiting the Nechi Institute and Poundmaker's
Lodge, the site of the former Edmonton residential school.

We are pleased to invite you to gather with us on Thursday, February 22 at
Trinity United Church, 8810 Meadowlark Road (off 87 Ave and 159 St.) in
Edmonton. You are welcome to join us for an informal gathering and dinner
at 5:30 pm. We simply ask that you call Muriel at Trinity United
780-489-0860 by February 16 to include yourself in the meal count.

Otherwise feel free to come at 7:00 pm for a public meeting to discuss the
church and community response to the Indian residential school system. This
