You may want to know that the United Church is well thought of by many native Elders in terms of our willingness to be accountable and responsible in regards to the Residential Schools we were involved with.
 
Recently I was involved in an Aboriginal Perceptions Training here at RCMP "K" Division Headquarters.  An elder, Maggie Hodgson spoke to us about healing.  She had high praise for our Church.  This can provide us with enthusiasm for continued work in this area and in relationships with First Nations People.
 
Oh, did you know that the last Residential School (not one of ours)closed in 1996?
