This would appear to be a wonderful opportunity for some of our young
people. Please pass it on to them.

Subject: Looking for Diversity in the Canadian Delegation

The 2007 World Youth Ship is Seeking 10 young Canadians (Applicants must be
between the ages of 18 to 30)

For the second year in a row, 10 young Canadians will embark the Ship for
World Youth (SWY) with of objective of making a difference in the world.
Through the generosity of the Government of Japan, delegates will join young
leaders from every continent to participate in the 19th journey of the most
original and exciting cross-cultural exchange ever conceived.

>From mid-January to early March 2007, 120 Japanese and 144 youth from 12
other nations will live together on a ship as it travels from Japan to
Tonga, Australia, and Fiji. This is the 10th time Canada has been selected
as a participant nation.

The purpose of the Ship for World Youth is to promote international
understanding and friendship between youth from Japan and other parts of the
world. Delegates will attend seminars and lectures given by world-class
professors and discuss new avenues to overcome the challenges humanity has
to face today. Mixed with cultural and sporting activities and port-of-call
visits, this is an invitation for unique opportunities to interact with a
wide variety of people from different backgrounds and experiences. Please
note that English is the working language on the Ship and that all program
costs (travel, etc.) are covered by Japan.
