Children and Youth Ministry Institute Please note that this event will be held October 13 - 20 (not Oct 6 - 13 as listed in our program calendar). Are you interested in being on summer staff 2009? Or do you know of a young adult you might invite to consider this opportunity? Each summer Naramata Centre hires 25-30 young adults to provide leadership in our children, youth and intergenerational programs. This is good work. This is hard work. This is work that is full of learning about you, about leadership, and about community. Children and Youth Program Staff: These staff members plan and lead daily program experiences for children and youth ages 3-18. There are fourteen C&Y positions, including six Department Coordinator positions for those with previoius Naramata Centre Summer Staff experience. Waterfront: Three waterfront staff have responsibility for safety at the Centre's beachfront, including the Waterfront Coordinator who has responsibility as team leader. Lifeguard qualifications and experience in recreation planning are required. A Volunteer Practicum offers an opportunity to learn about Naramata Centre's approach to ministry with Children and Youth, develop leadership skills and experience living and working in commmunity. Practicum Volunteers attend summer staff training week (June 28-July 3), and then join a team for one other week of the Summer Program working with Summer Staff in their weekly rhythm of work and worship. Applications for some summer staff positions are available on our website. Contact Naramata Centre's office staff for the remaining applications. Orchard Court construction moving forward OC Jan 09 Construction of two new Orchard Court accommodation buildings is underway and on schedule! Watch for more photos and a detailed update before the end of February. Thank you to everyone who has helped to make this dream a reality! Naramata Centre friends ... Jennifer McGill (also known as Jenny-wren, pickle, brat, pumpkin, the energizer bunny, and many other terms of endearment) passed away on January 1, 2009. Jennifer was 32 years old. Jennifer first attended Naramata Centre with her family when she was 9 months old, and returned year after year, most years assisted on site by a caregiver provided through the Centre's Heartwood Bursary program. Naramata Centre was a special spiritual home for Jennifer. She knew she was on a journey to be with God, and looked forward to being free to run, ski and go bungy jumping in heaven. Her vibrant energy will be missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. A memorial fund established in Jennifer's memory will help to provide the funds needed to build a ramp to the lake to provide access for those with disabilities. Donations may be made by contacting the office at (250) 496-5751 ext 200. Mandido Mandido Morris passed away on January 9 at the age of 73. Dido graciously shared his music, his knowledge and skill during summer programs at Naramata Centre for many years. An acomplished hand drummer, he was an inspiring and generous teacher. He will be sadly missed. Naramata Centre friends ... 

 

 

Jennifer McGill = (also known as Jenny-wren, = pickle, brat, pumpkin, the energizer bunny, and many other terms of endearment) passed away on January 1, 2009. Jennifer was 32 = years old.

 

Jennifer first attended Naramata Centre = with her family when she was 9 months old, and returned year after year, = most years assisted on site by a caregiver provided through the Centre's Heartwood Bursary program. Naramata Centre was a = special spiritual home for Jennifer. She knew she was on a journey to be = with God, and looked forward to being free to run, ski and go bungy = jumping in heaven. Her vibrant energy will be missed by her = family, friends and all who knew her.

 

A memorial fund established in Jennifer's = memory will help to provide the funds needed to build a ramp to the lake to provide access for those with disabilities. = Donations may be made by contacting the office at (250) 496-5751 ext = 200.

3DMandidoMandido = Morris passed away on January 9 at = the age of 73.

 

Dido graciously shared his music, his = knowledge and skill during summer programs at Naramata Centre = for many years. An acomplished hand drummer, he was an = inspiring and generous teacher. He will be sadly = missed.
